Chair of International Relations

The Chair of International Relations is concerned with theories of international politics, global security policy, foreign policy analysis, and the role of political force in general. The chair is held by Prof. Dr. James W. Davis.

The Chair of International Relations offers a variety of service in the areas of teaching, research, and consulting.

  • Taken all together, the teaching activities aim to broadly cover the spectrum of international relations.
  • The Chair's focuses on qualitative research on topics like global security policy, transatlantic relations, (US foreign policy analysis, political decision-making theory, and political psychology.
  • Consulting services have been provided to the Federal Chancellery of the Fed. Republic of Germany as well as the Parliamentary Commission for the Authorization of Foreign Deployments of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) at the German Parliament (Bundestag).
  • The promotion and development of junior staff in research and teaching involves the continuous education of research- and teaching assistants.
