Lisa Garbe is a Postdoctoral associate at the Intitute for Political Science and holds a P.hD. in International Affairs and Political Economy from the University of St.Gallen. She is currently a Postdoctoral researcher at the WZB Berlin Social Science Centre. In her research, she examines the ownership of internet service providers across Africa and consequences for the availablity of internet access and hence democratization. Her research interests include authoritanism, comparative politics, and the political dimension of information and communication technologies. She is interested in combining quantiative statistical with qualitative methods and spent several months in East Africa for field research.
